New Delhi: US court has now approved the extradition of 26/11 Mumbai attack accused Tahawwur Hussain Rana to India. Strategically, this is a big victory for India. Be aware that Rana is a Canadian businessman of Pakistani origin.
Even before this, the Indian authorities had demanded an inquiry from Rana into the 2008 Mumbai attacks. Officials said that Rana was also involved in that attack. NIA is probing this matter. India was expecting this decision from America. At the same time, about a month ago, according to some other media sources, information was received that India was preparing for extradition in this case.
Let us inform you that, in 2008, the terrorists of Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba attacked Mumbai. On the other hand, on June 10, 2020, India complained about Tahawwur Rana. Then India demanded the temporary arrest of this 62-year-old accused. After India’s request, the Biden government also supported and approved it. On the other hand, on Wednesday, May 17, the court issued a 48-page order. The court also agreed that Rana’s extradition is justified. From the reasons presented by India, it seems that there is a special need to interrogate Rana. In such a situation, soon Rana will be in the prison of Indian law.
