Seoul: South Korea and the US will conduct military exercises next week amid increasing aggression by North Korea. This will be the most extensive joint military exercise between the two countries in recent years. The South Korean military gave this information on Tuesday. North Korea is constantly testing weapons and has been threatening South Korea and America.
The military exercise between South Korea and the US will begin on August 22 and will continue till September 1. The military exercise has been named ‘Ulchi Freedom Shield’. During this, exercises will be done with fighter planes, warships, and tanks. Thousands of soldiers are expected to take part in the exercise.
The US Defense Ministry said that the navies of the US, South Korea, and Japan conducted exercises off the coast of Hawaii from August 8 to 14. The ministry said that its purpose is to enhance trilateral cooperation in view of the increasing challenges from North Korea.
