New Delhi: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the much-awaited results of the Civil Services Examination 2023, marking a significant milestone in the careers of 1016 aspiring civil servants. The final tally includes 180 candidates selected for the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and 200 for the Indian Police Service (IPS), among other prestigious services.
Leading the pack is Aditya Srivastava from Lucknow, who has clinched the top spot, followed by Animesh Pradhan and Ananya Reddy securing the second and third ranks, respectively. Notably, this year’s top ranks feature three candidates who are already serving as IPS officers. Aditya Srivastava, the current topper, is undergoing training at the National Police Academy in Hyderabad and has shown remarkable improvement from his previous All India 136th rank in the 2022 examination.
This year’s results have also set a record for the first time in 11 years, with an in-service IPS officer achieving the number-1 rank in the UPSC Civil Services Examination. The last such instance was when IPS Gaurav Aggarwal topped the examination in 2013.
The top-10 list this year is distinguished by the presence of six women, showcasing the growing representation and success of female candidates in the civil services. Ananya Reddy, Ruhani, Srishti Dabas, Nausheen, and Aishwaryam Prajapati have all secured their places among the top ranks, continuing the trend of women achieving the number-1 rank in previous years, with Ishita Kishore in 2022 and Shruti Sharma in 2021.
The UPSC Civil Services Examination remains one of the most challenging and competitive exams in India, and the success of these candidates is a testament to their dedication and hard work.
