Union cabinet announced to give 1.64 lakh crore package to re-establish BSNL

New Delhi: The Central Government has taken a big decision to bring good days of India’s state-run telecom company Bhartiya Sanchar Nigam Limited and to make it stand again. Under which the Union Cabinet has given its approval for a package of 1.64 lakh crores. This information was given by the Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnav at a press conference. With this, the government has also approved the merger of BSNL and BBNL.

The Union Railway Minister said that the government has also taken an important decision to take the 4G network to the village. Under this, the Union Cabinet approved the project for saturation of 4G mobile services in all the untouched villages of the country through Universal Service Obligation Fund at an estimated cost of Rs 26,316 crore.

The Union Minister said the Central Government will connect 26,616 villages across the country with a 4G network. For this, 19722 towers will be decided. For which Rs 26,316 crore will be spent.

5G service will also start soon
Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said, “With a comprehensive package of Rs 1.64 lakh crore, BSNL will upgrade services, provide high quality 4G services and move to 5G services immediately. Its balance sheet structure will be restructured so that BSNL emerges as a sustainable, viable entity.”
