United Nations: United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres warned that there were famines in the conflict-affected Congo, Yemen, South Sudan, and Northeast Nigeria. And there is a risk of food insecurity and millions of lives are in danger.

In a note sent to the United Nations Security Council — a copy of which was received by the Associated Press on Friday — the United Nations Secretary-General said that the four countries topped the world’s food crisis rankings. He gave this information to the food crisis and the recent Food Security Analysis -2020 and said that very little funds have been provided to deal with it. “Now action needs to be taken,” said Gutarace.

“The Democratic Republic of Congo, Yemen, northeastern Nigeria and southern Sudan have once again faced a serious crisis over food security and are on the verge of facing a possible famine,” he said. The UN chief said that important signs of other conflict-prone countries, including Somalia, Burkina Faso and Afghanistan, are declining. The United Nations’ chief of humanitarian aid, Mark Locock, said the epidemic had caused the economy to collapse and that its biggest impact was on food security and agricultural production, and extremists could benefit from it.
