Uddhav Thackeray Launches World’s Largest Plasma Project for Corona Patients

Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Monday launched a ‘plasma therapy-cum-test’ project to treat serious patients of Kovid-19. An official of the state’s Department of Medical Education called it the biggest initiative of its kind in the world. In this method, plasma is obtained from the blood of people who have recovered from this infection. It is then given to patients undergoing plasma treatment.

The official said that the project has been named ‘Platina’. It is the largest such project in the world. He said that under this project we intend to save the lives of 500 serious patients of coronavirus. This test will be done in 21 medical colleges. He said that two doses of 200 ml plasma would be given free of cost to all serious patients.
