Dubai: Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates, is building a temple of Hindus in Abu Dhabi. The delegates met and reviewed the progress of the temple. The foundation stone of the temple was laid in April last year and construction started in December.
BAPS Hindu Temple, Abu Dhabi said in a statement that during a recent meeting in Al Ain, Sheikh Abdullah held talks with Brahmavihari Swami of BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha and inquired about the construction of the temple. The release stated that Indian Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates Pawan Kapoor was also present at the meeting.
According to the statement, “In such a challenging time of the Covid-19 pandemic, such a project of global harmony will renew the faith and hope of India and the United Arab Emirates underlining their unique friendship and their dedication towards progress and peace.”
Brahmavihari Swamy underlined that the entire team associated with the project and the entire Hindu society is dedicated to long-term contribution to the UAE. Sheikh Abdullah was presented the Golden Souvenir of the temple.
