Kabul: In Kabul, Afghanistan’s capital, gunmen opened fire on a car in which two female judges working in Afghanistan’s High Court were killed, and the driver of the car was injured. This is the latest attack in Kabul during ongoing peace talks between Afghan government officials and the Taliban in Qatar.
Ahmed Fahim Karim, a spokesman for the Supreme Court of Afghanistan, said the women killed in the attack were judges, who served in the High Court but did not name them. No one has yet claimed responsibility for this attack. Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said the Taliban were not behind the attack. The Afghan government has blamed the Taliban for the incidents of assassination in recent months, while the Taliban alleges that the government is carrying out such killings to disrupt the peace process.
The Islamic State group has claimed responsibility for the attacks in recent months, including attacks on educational institutions in the capital. 50 people were killed in an attack on educational institutions.
