New Delhi: The movement of VVIP people like Prime Minister and Vice President in the new Parliament of the country will no longer be a hindrance. Three new tunnels to be connected to the new Parliament will be built which will be connected with the Prime Minister’s House, the Vice-President’s House and the Chambers of MPs in the Parliament. The concept behind these tunnels is that if VIP movements are outside the Parliament, then with very few interruptions VVIP motorcades will be able to come in and out of the complex of the new Parliament.
According to the Central Vista Redevelopment Plan, the new PM House and PMO will be on the South Block and the Vice President’s residence will be on the North Block. The Chamber of MPs will come to the same place where Transport and Shram Shakti Bhavan are present.
Proposed tunnels of single lane
According to a report in the English newspaper Times of India, the proposed tunnels will remain single lane. Because they will be used exclusively by a few people. Sources said that since these are small blocks, golf carts can be used to reach Parliament. Such a link to the Rashtrapati Bhavan was not required, as it is at some distance and the inflow in the President’s Parliament is low and predetermined.
Sources said that Subtranian Routes have been proposed, as the primary objective of the Central Vista redemption is to make public access to the area above and around the Parliament complex easier.
Affects the movement of people
At present, security is often tightened for security reasons and VIP movements in many parts of the Central Vista and Lutyens Bungalow Zone. This affects the movement of people. In the future VIPs may use public routes only for events such as the Republic Day Parade.
According to the report, the source said that as a strategy to improve the access of visitors and tourists to the Parliament in the Central Vista Project, high security is required for VIP movements which will be different from the common routes. Chambers for the Vice President and Prime Minister’s residence, ministers and MPs are proposed close to the Parliament House. ‘
