Washington: Neera Tanden of Indian Origin faces difficulties as Joe Biden is elected director of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) by Joe Biden as the next president of the United States. It is happening because some senior senators of the Republican Party have publicly opposed his nomination.

In fact, these Republican senators are angry with Nira’s old “aggressive and insulting” remarks against several members of the Senate. Tandon, 50, will be the first black and Indian-origin woman to head the US Office of Management and Budget if her appointment is approved by the Senate. The OMB is responsible for implementing and overseeing the ideas of the US President in all branches of the executive. This is especially true of the President’s policy meetings, budgeting, management, regulatory objectives and agencies’ enduring responsibilities.

Tandon’s career has focused on helping professional families with economic growth and formulating policies to address inequality. Influential senator and co-chairman of the Senate India Caucus, John Carnin, called Tandon’s nomination Biden’s worst ever. “I believe that his ‘aggressive and insulting’ remarks against members of the Senate, especially those on our side, will make it difficult for him to confirm his name,” he said.

Speaking to reporters, Cornin said, “Tandon has removed many of the tweets he has made in the past few weeks, which seems childish. It seems that this will not allow people to access those tweets.” The 100-member Senate has 50 members from the Republican Party and 48 from the Democratic Party. Voting is scheduled for January 5 for two senators from the state of Georgia. He alleged that Nira had deleted more than a thousand tweets, including those criticizing Republican Party members.

Let it be known that Tandon has 3,13,400 followers on Twitter and he is quite active on this platform. In the past, Nira has been a fierce critic of Republican senators and President Donald Trump. In one of her tweets, Neera referred to Mitch McConnell, the leader of the majority party in the Senate, as ‘Moscow Mitch’.

According to the Washington Examiner, Tandon has removed nearly a thousand tweets, including those against moderate Republican Senator Suzanne Collins, citing the difficulty in getting the votes needed to confirm the nomination. Republican Whip Senator John Thune accused Tandon of being biased on some issues in the past.
