Bhopal: A leopard has died after being hit by a train. The incident took place at 2:30 pm Saturday-Sunday in the Midghat railway line between Habibganj to Budhni. In this railway segment, tigers and leopards have lost their lives in the past. The incident last night is the first incident in the last year and a half.
According to the information, there is a Chauka-Midghat railway line between Habibganj to Budhni. Around 2:30 pm, an adult leopard was crossing the railway track on this railway line. Then a train arrived from Itarsi and caught the leopard. The train was in motion, so he died on the spot. The driver of the train informed the incident to the Railway Control Room. Railway officials then reported to the forest department.
On which on Sunday morning a team of department officials arrived from Obaidullaganj and Barkheda and the body of the leopard has been picked up. The incident has been confirmed by Vijay Kumar, DFO, Obaidullaganj General Forest Division.
