Yes, now the passengers will have to pay the Special Development Charges at the railway stations on the lines of the airport. Now the Railway Board has also issued a guideline in this regard. However, this charge will be levied from the passengers according to the different classes of trains. The Railway Ministry has written a letter to all the zones in this regard. You may now have to pay an additional charge of Rs 10-50 as SDF. However, at present, this charge will be applicable only at the redevelopment railway station.

Different charges for different categories
According to this, now the unreserved category ticket will be charged Rs 10, while the passengers traveling from the reserved category will have to pay Rs 25 for this. Passengers of all classes of AC will have to pay an additional charge of Rs 50. You will also have to pay an additional Rs 10 on platform tickets at these stations. At the same time, the officials said that these charges can also be added to the train ticket during booking. However, this charge will be levied only after the commissioning of such stations.

Same SDF at all stations
Station Development Fee (SDF) will be charged from the passenger’s onboarding and deboarding of such redeveloped railway stations. The station development fee for passengers disembarking at such stations will be 50% of the rates mentioned above. On the other hand, if passengers do both boarding/elevating at such stations, then in that case this fee will be 1.5 times the applicable rate. SDF will be uniform at all such stations and will be charged as a separate component and applicable GST. Separate instructions will also be issued for this.

In fact, Railways is now redeveloping various stations to provide modern facilities. Under this, now Rani Kamalapati station (Habibganj) of West Central Railway and Gandhinagar Rajdhani station of Western Railway have been developed this time.
