New Delhi: Toyota launched the Hycross version of its popular MPV Innova some time back. This model became a hit as soon as it was launched. Such is the popularity of this model that if you book it today, you will get delivery in 2025.

The demand for the top-spec variant of this car is so high that the company has stopped bookings for it. However, one of the reasons for the increase in the waiting period is the interruption in the supply chain.

26 months waiting period for the top variant
The waiting period for booking the top-of-the-line variant has increased to 26 months. Moreover, the non-hybrid petrol variant also has a waiting period of six to seven months. The Innova Highcross comes with two powertrain options. The first option is a pure petrol powertrain which employs a 2.0-litre petrol engine producing 173 Bhp and 209 Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the other drivetrain option also uses the 2.0-litre petrol engine but comes with a hybrid setup and produces a maximum of 184 Bhp and 188 Nm of torque.

Warranty
The standard petrol version comes mated to a CVT transmission, and the enhanced hybrid version comes mated to an e-CVT gearbox. Toyota does not offer a manual gearbox with the Innova Highcross. However, Toyota still offers the Innova Crysta diesel in the market. The Innova Crysta diesel was recently relaunched in the market and is available only with a manual transmission. Toyota is offering 3 year/100,000 kms warranty on hybrid batteries and 5 year/220,000 kms extended warranty, 3 years of free roadside assistance, attractive schemes and 8 year/160,000 kms warranty option.

Available in 6 variants
Toyota offers the Innova Highcross in 6 variants: G, GX, VX, VX(O), ZX and ZX(O). Except for the ZX and ZX(O), all these versions are offered with both 7 and 8-seater configurations. Meanwhile, these two top-of-the-line variants only come in a seven-seater configuration. Toyota Innova Hycross is available in Super White, Platinum White Pearl, Silver Metallic, Attitude Black Mica, Sparkling Black Pearl Crystal Shine, Graded Bronze Metallic and Blackish Glass Flake. The Toyota Innova Highcross is based on the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA). It is a monocoque MPV while the Innova Crysta is a ladder-on-frame MPV.

The Innova Hycross looks quite premium over the Innova Crysta in terms of looks and features. Toyota Innova Highcross offers features like a floating 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a semi-digital instrument cluster, leather upholstery, front ventilated seats, ambient lights, a panoramic sunroof, multi-function steering wheel.
