Mumbai: The third installment of the popular Tiger franchise, starring Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, and Emraan Hashmi, has set the box office on fire with its phenomenal performance. The action thriller, directed by Manish Sharma, was released on November 12, coinciding with the Diwali festival, and has received rave reviews from critics and the audience alike.
Salman Khan reprises his role as the RAW agent Avinash Singh Rathore aka Tiger, who is trying to stop a global terrorist threat. Katrina Kaif plays his wife and fellow agent Zoya, while Emraan Hashmi makes his debut in the franchise as the main antagonist, Omar. The film is a sequel to Ek Tha Tiger (2012) and Tiger Zinda Hai (2017), both blockbuster hits.
According to trade analysts, the film collected Rs 44.5 crore on its first day, Rs 59 crore on its second day, Rs 42.5 crore on its third day, and Rs 14 crore on its fourth day, taking its total domestic net collection to Rs 160 crore. The film has also performed well in the overseas markets, earning Rs 40 crore in four days.
Tiger 3 has been released on over 4500 screens across India, in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu languages. The film has received a positive response from the audience, who have praised the action sequences, the chemistry between the lead pair, the performance of Emraan Hashmi, and the music by Vishal-Shekhar. The film is expected to continue its strong run at the box office in the coming days and emerge as one of the year’s biggest hits.
