New Delhi: Amidst the increasing cases of the Omicron variant, the third wave of corona in India may come at the beginning of the new year. The National Covid-19 Super Model Committee has given this warning. This committee claims that there is a strong possibility of a third wave of the Corona Pandemic in the country. Talking to news agency ANI, the head of this committee, Vidyasagar said that due to the Omicron variant, the third wave of Covid-19 in India is likely to come at the beginning of the new year and its peak will be in February.
However, he told that this third wave will be less deadly than the second wave of Corona. Because due to the Covid-19 vaccination, immunity has developed in a large number of people. At present, 7 and a half thousand cases of corona are coming in the country daily and their number may increase due to the increasing infection of Omicron variants.
Vidyasagar, chairman of the National Covid-19 Supermodel Committee and Professor of IIT Hyderabad, said that the rate of daily increasing infection in the third wave is expected to be lower than in the second wave of the corona. He said that when the second wave of Kovid-19 came in March-April this year, the vaccination program had already started in the country and most of the population of the country did not get the vaccine.
The third wave of corona will be less deadly than the second wave
Professor Vidyasagar said that due to the large-scale Covid-19 vaccination of people, the cases of infection in the third wave of corona will not increase rapidly. Due to vaccination and past experiences, we will be able to fight this time with better ability. He also said that the number of daily cases will also depend on how the Omicron variant affects people who have taken the vaccine and have developed natural immunity.
Another member of this committee, Maninda Aggarwal told ANI that, in the third wave of the corona, the number of daily cases in India may be 1 to 2 lakh, which will be less than the second wave. Let us inform you that till now 100 cases of Omicron have been reported in India. At the same time, Dr. VK Paul, a member of NITI Aayog (Health), said on Friday that the rapidly increasing cases of this variant in Britain are a matter of concern.
