New Delhi: The political fervor reaches its peak as India prepares for the third phase of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024, scheduled for May 7. This critical phase will witness voting on 94 seats across 12 states. As the election campaign draws to a close today, May 5, candidates and politicians are making their final appeals to the electorate.
The Election Commission has been diligently preparing for this phase, ensuring all measures are in place for a smooth electoral process. The states participating in this phase include Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, and the Union Territories of Dadra and Nagar Haveli/Daman and Diu, along with Jammu and Kashmir. Notably, the voting date for the Anantnag Rajouri seat in Jammu and Kashmir has been rescheduled to May 25, aligning with the sixth phase.
Prominent figures such as Amit Shah, Shivraj Chauhan, Digvijay Singh, Dimple Yadav, and Supriya Sule are among the many stalwarts whose fate will be decided by the public. The first phase saw voting on 102 seats in 21 states, followed by the second phase on April 26, covering 88 seats.
Post the third phase, the nation will move forward to the subsequent phases on May 13, May 20, and May 25, culminating in the seventh phase on June 1. The eagerly awaited results will be announced on June 4, marking the conclusion of this democratic exercise.
