HYDERABAD: Terming Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the “weakest and incompetent prime minister of the country till date”, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Sunday said there is a ‘double engine’ at the Centre. A BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party)less government is needed. Addressing a press conference held in Hyderabad on Sunday, Rao, known as KCR, said former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi had dared to declare an Emergency in the 1970s, while under Modi’s regime the country had an “undeclared Emergency” in force.
He also Praises Supreme Court Judge J.B. Pardiwala and Justice Surya Kant, he said, “I salute them. They have to maintain this attitude to save this country.”
A vacation bench of Justices Surya Kant and Pardiwala had on July 1 slammed Sharma for his remarks against Prophet Mohammad, saying his “unbridled tongue” had “set the entire country on fire” and that the country’s He is “solely responsible” for what is happening. Accusing the BJP-led Nationalist Democratic Alliance (NDA) government of being corrupt, KCR said the government at the Center will be changed and “malpractices” like coal import pressure on states will be probed. “The country needs a double engine government without the BJP,” he said.
Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) chief KCR claimed that state governments without BJP are more progressive than those ruled by BJP. “The Narendra Modi government should go and a BJP-less government should come. This is our slogan. Thanks to Narendra Modi. We accept your proposal of ‘Double Engine Development’, ‘Double Engine Government’. Now people should decide whose double engine government should be formed.
Should there be a double engine government of the BJP or a double engine government without BJP? He said that it is clear from the facts and figures that the country does not need a double engine government of the BJP, but a double engine government without BJP. He said that he has no personal enmity with Modi, but he is against his policies.
KCR said, “I am saying this and will say this further. There is no weak and incompetent prime minister like Modi… Under Congress’s rule, skilled people were going out. Now, because of your government’s policies, capital is going out, resulting in depletion of foreign exchange reserves.” KCR claimed that many companies are withdrawing their investments made in the country and ‘Make in India’ is a huge failure as the country still imports kites and national flags from China.
He said the NDA government should have consulted and taken them into confidence before finalizing plans like ‘Agneepath’. “They say we need a younger generation in the army. Our country also needs a young prime minister.” He said some retired army officers have realized that “there is no laboratory to conduct the India-China border experiment”.

KCR said imposing a ban in the name of the FRBM (Fiscal Responsibility and Budget Management) Act is another step by the BJP government to harass the performing states like Telangana. To reinforce his point, KCR played a video clip before reporters in which Modi was seen blaming the then United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government at the Center for the depreciating rupee against the dollar when he was in Gujarat. was the Chief Minister.
He said that the fall in GDP, rise in inflation, fall in the value of the rupee, increase in prices of gas, petrol, diesel, and other commodities, and rise in unemployment up to 8.3 percent, all expose the inefficiency of the BJP government.
KCR said Modi should give clarification on many issues and TRS will raise these issues in the upcoming Parliament session and other forums. He said the country would go back a hundred years due to the “wrong policies” of the central government. He accused the central government of not doing anything for the countrymen and farmers in the last eight years.
