London: European Union regulators have filed a lawsuit against e-commerce company Amazon for misconduct in business. Regulators allege that the e-commerce company is using the data to take unfair advantage of merchants using its platform. The EU’s executive Commission said on Tuesday it had referred the allegations to the company.
The commission said it was looking into the use of non-public business data by Amazon in a systematic way. By doing so, Amazon is avoiding the general risks of competition and using them to monopolize its e-commerce services in France and Germany. These two are Amazon’s two largest markets in the European Union.
