On March 28, 1910, Henry Fabre of France successfully flew a powerful sea-plane for the first time. In September 1919, the British company Supermarine started operating the sea-plane. This type of aircraft is capable of flying and landing from small water bodies and small airstrip.

The trial of Sea-Plane has been going on since the year 2017. Under the first phase, the trial of the aircraft flying from the ground was done between Nagpur and Guwahati. Under the second phase, the trial of the amphibious aircraft was done at Girgaon Chowpatty. This type of aircraft is capable of flying and landing from both land and water. SpiceJet has so far acquired the rights to 18 C-plane routes.
