New Delhi: Recently many electric cars have been launched in India, from which it is clear that automakers are looking at their future in the electric segment. Although it may take a long time for electric cars to fully capture the Indian market compared to conventional cars, experts believe that electric cars can catch up in the Indian market earlier than expected. Tesla is already in the process of launching its electric cars in India and may launch its products by the end of this year. Ahead of the launch, the Tesla Model Y electric SUV was recently spotted on the Indian roads during a test run. A video of this blue-colored SUV has also been shared on social media by Motor Beam.
Earlier, the Tesla Model 3 electric car was spotted testing real-life conditions on Indian roads. Interestingly, during testing, both the Tesla cars were seen with the same color paint scheme, in which no camouflage was used.
Both these Tesla electric cars are based on the same platform. While the Model 3 gets a compact sedan body style, the Model Y sports a compact coupe-style SUV look. There are many other similarities between both the cars in terms of design, which include the same set of angular LED headlights and integrated dolls. Along with this, similar alloy wheels, similar creases, and tinted black glass roofs are seen on both cars. However, the front bumper of the cars sports a difference with the Model Y, which gives a flatter and sportier look compared to the sleeper design on the Model 3.

Talking about the interiors, Tesla is known for its minimalistic design and something similar is seen in the Model Y as well. It sports a simple dashboard design that houses a large 15-inch touchscreen infotainment display that controls all the features.
The Model Y can accelerate from 0 to 96 kmph in just 4.8 seconds. Tesla claims that this electric car model can give a top speed of 217 kmph. The company claims that the electric SUV with its battery pack can go up to 525 km on a single charge.
