New Delhi: Tesla, the company led by billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk, released a stunning video of its humanoid robot Optimus on Sunday. The video showcases the robot’s impressive yoga poses and its ability to sort goods autonomously. The video also demonstrates the robot’s speed, balance, flexibility and adaptability.
The video, which was shared by the official Tesla Optimus account on X, begins with the robot performing a sequence of movements at a human-like speed. The robot is seen picking up and placing different objects on a table while avoiding obstacles and adjusting to disturbances. The robot is able to self-calibrate its arms and legs to maintain its stability and accuracy.
The video then shows the robot doing yoga, which is a form of physical and mental exercise that originated in India. The robot is seen standing on one leg and spreading its arms and legs in different directions. The robot also bends its torso and twists its neck, showing its flexibility and range of motion.
According to the caption of the video, Optimus can now sort goods autonomously using its end-to-end neural network. This means that the robot can process video inputs and provide controlled outputs without any human intervention or supervision. The caption also invites people to join Tesla to help grow Optimus (and improve its yoga routine).
The video reveals that Teslabot is now running on the same end-to-end neural network as Tesla cars, which are known for their self-driving capabilities. Tesla CEO Elon Musk reacted to the video with one word ‘progress’, indicating his satisfaction with the robot’s development. Internet users have also been amazed by the robot’s new capabilities. One user wrote, ‘Optimus is very comfortable. I’m impressed.’ Another said ‘Oh my God! Amazing progress from the Tesla team. Very good. I can’t wait to see the next leap in capabilities.
