Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Mohan, met today and approved several important proposals. One of them was to grant exemption in registration fees and road tax on the sale of vehicles in the trade fair to be held on March 1 and 2 in Ujjain. The trade fair, organized by the Industries Department, aims to boost the automobile sector in the state and attract more customers. The cabinet approved the proposal of the Transport Department to give a 50 percent tax exemption on the sale of non-transport and small transport vehicles, such as cars, bikes, scooters, etc. The same tax relief was given at the Gwalior trade fair held earlier this year.
Six-laning of Indore-Ujjain road for Simhastha 2028
Another major decision the cabinet took was to make the Indore-Ujjain road six-lane for the upcoming Simhastha, the religious gathering of millions of devotees every 12 years. The cabinet sanctioned Rs 1700 crore for the project, including the construction of a parallel road between Indore and Ujjain. The project will be completed before Simhastha 2028, which will be held in Ujjain. The cabinet said that the six-laning of the road will ease the traffic congestion and ensure smooth movement of pilgrims and tourists.
Other decisions of the cabinet
The cabinet also approved the departmental inquiry of eight officers, who were accused of misconduct and corruption in various cases. The cabinet said that the inquiry will be conducted fairly and transparently and the guilty will be punished. The cabinet also revised the rates of some public projects, such as water supply, sewerage, solid waste management, etc. The cabinet said the revised rates will reflect the current market prices and ensure quality work. The cabinet also reviewed the progress of various schemes and projects in the state and directed the officials to expedite their implementation.
