Agra: Who does not want to visit the Taj Mahal? The Taj Mahal of Agra is the first choice not only for the country but also for foreigners. But these days Agra Municipal Corporation has sent a notice of more than one crore rupees to the Taj Mahal. After this, there has been a stir among the officials of Tajmahaj.
In fact, Agra Municipal Corporation has given notice to Tajmahaj regarding home tax, water tax, and sewer. A notice of about Rs 1.5 lakh has been sent to the officials of the Archaeological Department in the name of house tax alone. A warning has been given to confiscate the Tajmahaj if the tax is not paid on time.
According to the information, the house tax has been asked to be deposited within 15 days of the notice. If the tax is not deposited in 15 days, a warning has been given to confiscate the Taj Mahal. In such a situation, there is panic among the officials of the Archaeological Department.
Dr. Rajkumar Patel, Superintendent of the Archaeological Survey of India, told that the situation will be clarified by replying to the notices sent in relation to the Taj Mahal and Etmaddaula. The Municipal Corporation has issued a notice for Water Tax and a notice for Property Tax. The property tax is around Rs 1.40 lakh and the water tax is around Rs 1 crore.
Officials said that a similar notice for payment of outstanding house tax on the ‘Tomb of Itmad-ud-Daulah’, a Mughal mausoleum in Agra, was also a protected monument. Also referred to as the ‘Baby Taj’, the mausoleum was commissioned by Nur Jahan, the wife of Mughal emperor Jahangir, for her father.
