New York: The new Indian-origin CEO of global coffee giant Starbucks, Laxman Narasimhan, has said that he will visit restaurants once a month to understand the company’s culture, customers, challenges, and opportunities. Barista means will work as an employee. A person who works in a coffee bar is called a barista.
Officially, 55-year-old Narasimhan took over as CEO of the Seattle-based company on Monday. He took over the reins about two weeks ago from Howard Schultz, the company’s founder and now former CEO. Laxman said in a letter to employees on Thursday that he will always be supportive of the company’s partners and its culture.
The letter further read, “With you, I have experienced every aspect of the business to know what it really means to wear a green apron.” You welcomed me to your store, and trained me to be a barista.
