New Delhi: The outgoing Congress President Sonia Gandhi has appealed to the Congress to elect a new chief. It is believed that she is going to resign. Before the meeting, different voices are emerging within the party. In which a class MP and former minister are also included. While a collective leadership has also been demanded. At the same time, another group has demanded the return of Rahul Gandhi. Some Congress leaders, including former ministers, have also written to party president Sonia Gandhi for a change in organizational structure and leadership.
Recently Congress leader and Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh said that the reason for NDA’s success is “the absence of strong, united opposition”, and that at this critical juncture the party will prove to be “harmful.” He further said that the Gandhi family is “fit for the role” as the family has “made a huge contribution to the country’s progress since attaining independence from British rule”.
