SINGAPORE: A 40-year-old Indian national convicted of molesting an air hostess was jailed for four months on Friday. A court here rejected his appeal against conviction.

Vijayan Mathan Gopal

Vijayan Mathan Gopal was convicted on August 2, 2017, in August last year in a case of molesting a 22-year-old hostess on a flight from Cochin to Singapore. He was sentenced to four months imprisonment in September last year.

Gopal had filed an appeal against the verdict of acquittal. Justice A. Abdullah rejected the appeal on Friday despite all possible efforts by Gopal’s lawyers, saying he was satisfied that the appeal should be dismissed.
