Mumbai: Bollywood’s King Khan Shahrukh Khan is all set to share the screen with his daughter Suhana Khan in a spy thriller film directed by Sujoy Ghosh. The film, which is yet to be titled, will mark the Bollywood debut of Suhana Khan, who is currently studying filmmaking in New York.
According to sources, the film will be based on the popular comic book series The Archies, which features a group of teenage friends who solve mysteries and have adventures. Suhana Khan will play the role of Betty Cooper, the smart and sweet girl next door, while Shahrukh Khan will play her father, who is a secret agent working for an international organization. The film will also have other actors playing the roles of Archie Andrews, Veronica Lodge, Jughead Jones, and Reggie Mantle, the other members of The Archies gang.
The news of Shahrukh Khan and Suhana Khan working together on a film surfaced a few months ago when Sujoy Ghosh approached them with the script. The father-daughter duo had liked the idea and had given their nod for the project. However, the film was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the lockdown restrictions. Now, the makers are planning to start the shooting of the film soon, as the situation has improved.
Sources say that Shahrukh Khan and Suhana Khan will sit together to read the final script of the film at the end of December, and will also do some workshops and rehearsals. The shooting of the film is expected to begin in late January or early February next year and will be done in various locations in India and abroad. The film will be produced by Shahrukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment and Sujoy Ghosh’s Boundscript Motion Pictures.
Sujoy Ghosh, who is known for his acclaimed films like Kahaani, Badla, and Typewriter, is excited to direct this film, which will be a mix of action, comedy, and drama. He said, “I have always been a fan of The Archies comics and I wanted to make a film based on them. I am glad that Shahrukh Khan and Suhana Khan agreed to be a part of this film, as they are perfect for the roles.
