New Delhi: The new variant of Coronavirus has created a stir all over the world. After giving relaxation in travel restrictions, all the countries have again started amending the travel rules. Meanwhile, the Government of India has also amended the earlier guidelines issued for travelers coming from abroad. The Union Health Ministry has issued new guidelines on Sunday, making changes in the rules that will be applicable from December 1. Now it will be mandatory for the passenger to upload the negative report of the Covid-19 RT-PCR test on the Air Suvidha Portal before the journey.
Significantly, India is reviewing its travel guideline after the new variant of the coronavirus Omicron surfaced in Botswana, South Africa. After the increasing cases of Omicron variants, PM Narendra Modi has also instructed ministers and officials to review again the plan to relax international travel restrictions.
On Sunday, the government said that passengers coming to India from December 1 will have to upload the negative report of their Covid test on the portal, and also the passengers will have to give details of their last 14 days of travel.
It is worth noting that the Government of India had recently announced that the government would start regular international flights from December 15. A day after this decision of the government, a new variant of Covid was revealed from South Africa.
India put these countries on the red list
The cases of new variants of Covid 19 are increasing at a fast pace. Cases of this variant have been reported in South Africa, Botswana, Israel, Hong Kong. Now a new case of this variant has come from the United Kingdom where two positive cases have been found. India has already put these countries on the list of countries at risk. This clearly means that travelers coming from these countries or going to these countries will have to go through many types of checks.
Currently, India has included European countries including South Africa, Brazil, Bangladesh, Botswana, China, Mauritius, New Zealand, Zimbabwe, Singapore, Hong Kong, Israel, the UK in its list of high-risk countries. The World Health Organization also issued a warning about this variant, saying that it can spread at a faster rate than other variants of corona so far.
