Scientists of IIT Roorkee are finding cause of landslide by soil test at Joshimath, samples taken from 11 places

Joshimath: A team of scientists from IIT Roorkee is also visiting the landslide-affected areas here and examining the soil. Along with this, the condition inside the ground is also being studied. So far the team has conducted investigations at 11 places.

A team of scientists led by IIT Roorkee scientist Sukanto Das has been conducting tests in different areas of Joshimath since January 18. The team is checking the soil by visiting different areas every day.

Here, after digging in the ground, and taking out the soil from inside, it is also being examined. For this, pits are being made in the ground. Along with this, what kind of condition is inside the ground by installing the machine is also being investigated and studied.

Scientists say that they are going to investigate all the areas affected by landslides. On Sunday, the team investigated the area of the Manohar Bagh ward. Whatever report will come from here, it will be sent to the higher officials.
The situation near the ropeway tower was also checked.

The team also studied the soil and underground conditions near tower number one of the Joshimath-Auli ropeway on Sunday. For this, a pit has been made near the tower. So that it can be known whether the tower may be at risk from this landslide in the future or not.
