Riyadh: Saudi Arabia on Monday released new details on how to slowly begin the pilgrimage to Mecca, a bandh that has been closed for the past seven months due to the Corona Virus. Haj Minister Muhammad Bentin said that the Sultanate would launch an online application whereby citizens, residents, and visitors of Saudi Arabia would be able to apply to ‘Umrah’ and reserve time and date for it.

This step is being taken to avoid congestion and physical distance guidelines due to the epidemic. The minister, who attended the virtual seminar, however, did not say when the pilgrimage would begin and how many pilgrims would be allowed at one time.
