Riyadh: Saudi Arabia has said that due to the coronavirus epidemic, more than 60 thousand people will not be allowed to Hajj this year and all of them will be citizens or residents here. Along with this, it will be mandatory for all of them to have a certificate of vaccination. Saudi Arabia made this announcement on Saturday through the government-run Saudi Press Agency. He has given this information citing the decision of the Ministry of Haj and Umrah. Last year, only about a thousand people already living in Saudi Arabia were selected for Hajj. Hajj begins in mid-July.
The Haj Ministry said that this year only 60 thousand Saudi residents and citizens will be allowed to travel. Only those people who have been vaccinated and will be less than 65 years of age will be allowed to go on Hajj. Apart from this, there should be no signs of being sick.
This is the second time in a row that the Haj pilgrimage has to be banned due to the coronavirus epidemic. Generally, lakhs of Muslims from all over the world participate in Hajj every year. The Muslim community believes that Hajj must be performed once in a lifetime.
