Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: The tension in the city over the renaming of the city is finally showing its effects. On the night of Ram Navami, there was a fierce clash between the groups of two communities in the Kiradpura area. There was a dispute between the two groups on Wednesday late at night in front of the Ram temple located in Kiradpura, a minority-dominated area.

It is said that after some time the riot broke out due to this dispute. As soon as the information was received, the police reached the spot, but it is being told that the unruly mob attacked the police as well. It is also known that some cars were burnt by pelting stones at police vehicles. It is being told that six people including two policemen were injured in this stone pelting. The incident started late at around 12.30 am and continued till 3.30 am.

Various programs were organized in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar City on the occasion of Ram Navami. There was enthusiasm about Ram Navami in Kiradpura as well. At around 11.30 pm near the Ram temple in Kiradpura, there was a ruckus in two groups about commanding outside the temple. This led to arguments and abuse. After this, the sloganeering started. After which people of two communities came face to face.

During this, the patrolling police released tear gas shells to control the rioters, but by then the riot had erupted. Police vehicles parked in front of the temple were set on fire by the mob. The police, along with senior officers, acted strictly, but the crowd was in no condition to listen. The mob also pelted stones at the policemen. Eventually, the police lathi-charged and fired tear gas shells, after which the crowd began to disperse.

It is also known that the police fired in the air to control the crowd as the crowd was uncontrollable. From Azad Chowk to City Chowk, this ruckus started during the night. The rioters also pelted stones at some houses.

Political leaders also reached the spot after hearing the news of the riot. After this incident, MP Imtiaz Jalil also reached Kiradpura. He tried hard to maintain peace with the people. He paid special attention to see that there should be no harm to the Ram temple. Balki stood firm to keep the temple safe. It is being told that the atmosphere should remain calm on the day of Ram Navami. For this, the police force has been increased. On the other hand, State Cooperative Minister Atul Save, MLA Pradeep Jaiswal, and leaders of several parties visited the Ram Mandir of Kiradpura around 4 am and appealed for peace to the residents after taking information about the incident.
