New Delhi: 66,191 new cases of coronavirus infection were reported in Maharashtra on Sunday and 832 people have been killed in the last 24 hours. However, 61,450 patients have been discharged during this period. There are 6,98,354 active cases in the state, while 35,30,060 people have become healthy after getting treatment. 64,760 people have died due to infection in the state. 5,542 new cases of coronavirus have been reported, 8,478 people have been discharged in the last 24 hours in Mumbai, while 64 people have died. There are 75,740 active cases of virus infection in Mumbai, while a total of 5,37,711 people have recovered from treatment. To date, 12,783 people have died due to infection in Mumbai.
Talking about other districts of the state, in Nagpur, 87 people have died and 7,771 new cases have been reported in the last 24 hours, while 5,130 people have been cured after receiving treatment. The total cases of infection in Nagpur district are 3,74,188, while 2,89,696 people have been cured after receiving treatment. The total number of active cases is 77,556. 6,936 people have died due to virus infection in the district. Explain that the state’s Uddhav Thackeray government has put restrictions like lockdown to prevent the corona infection in Maharashtra and only emergency services have been allowed to operate.
Free corona vaccination in Maharashtra
Nationalist Congress Party leader and Minority Affairs Minister Nawab Malik said on Sunday that the Maharashtra government would take out global tenders for getting free Kovid-19 vaccine to adult citizens below 45 years of age. Talking to reporters, Malik said that the vaccination campaign will start from May 1 and the state government’s funds will be used for this. He said, “Global tenders will be put out to buy affordable and quality vaccines.”
Malik said that from May 1, the central government has announced to start vaccination of citizens above 18 years of age. He said, “It is clear that the Center will not provide vaccination for people under the age of 45 and this will be done by the states.” The minister said that the Kovishield vaccine will be available to the center at Rs 150 per injection, while the rate fixed for the state government is Rs 400 per dose and in private hospitals, it is Rs 600 per dose.
