
Washington: The World Bank said on Thursday that remittances to India would fall by nine percent to US 76 billion due to the coronavirus and global economic recession.

China, Mexico, the Philippines and Egypt are among the top five countries in 2020 after India in terms of remittances, according to a recent World Bank report. Amid the ongoing Covid-19 epidemic and economic crisis around the world, remittances from people working abroad will decrease by 14 percent by 2021 compared to 2019.
