Kabul: The bloody war between the insurgent group and the Taliban continues in the Panjshir Valley, north of Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan. The insurgent group claims to have killed 600 Taliban fighters. Apart from this, about 1000 fighters have been captured. Some of them surrendered. According to Sputnik News, this claim was made by the spokesperson of the opposing faction, Faheem Dashti, through a tweet. Let us tell you that the fight is going on here for the last several days. On Saturday, the Taliban claimed occupation of the area. But later Amrulla Saleh, a leader of Panjshir’s militias (National Resistance Force), rejected that claim.
Panjshir is the only area the Taliban has not captured yet. Panjshir’s fighters are led by Ahmed Masood, son of former Afghan guerrilla commander Ahmed Shah Masood, and acting President Amrullah Saleh. Between 1996 and 2001, when the Taliban was ruling in Afghanistan, they could not capture this valley even at that time.
Claim of possession
Even though both sides have claimed possession in Panjshir, so far no conclusive evidence has been provided by either camp to prove it. News channel Al Jazeera reported that a Taliban official said fighting was continuing in Panjshir, but their advance was slowed slightly due to landmines on the road leading to the capital Bazarak and the provincial governor’s compound. Taliban spokesman Bilal Karimi said Khinj and Unaba districts had been captured. The Taliban claims that it has captured 4 out of 7 districts so far.
Saleh’s video message
In a video message, former Vice President of Afghanistan Amrullah Saleh has told that the war between the two sides is continuing. He said in this message, ‘There is no doubt that we are in a difficult situation. The Taliban have attacked us. But we will not surrender. We will continue to stand on the front for Afghanistan. I have shared this video to assure people that the news of my leaving the country is false.

Delay in government formation
Meanwhile, the Taliban has postponed the formation of a new government in Afghanistan to next week. Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid gave this information on Saturday. The Taliban is fighting to form a government that is inclusive and acceptable to the international community. The Taliban has postponed the announcement of the formation of a new government in Kabul for the second time since the capture of Kabul on 15 August.
