
New Delhi: Yog Guru Ramdev on Sunday withdrew his recent statement on allopathic medicines, which was strongly opposed by the medical fraternity. Responding to a letter from Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan, Ramdev said that he wanted to calm the matter.
He tweeted from his personal Twitter handle, “Honorable Mr. Harsh Vardhan ji, I received your letter, I regretfully withdraw my statement and am communicating this letter to you, regretting this entire controversy regarding medical practices. “
Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan on Sunday called the yoga guru Ramdev’s statement about allopathy “extremely unfortunate” and asked him to withdraw it.

The Indian Medical Association (IMA) on Saturday, citing a video that went viral on social media, said that Ramdev has claimed that allopathy is ‘rubbish science’ and approved by the Drug Controller General of India for treatment of Covid-19. Gai Remedisivir, Faviflu, and other such drugs have failed to treat Covid-19 patients.
After Ramdev withdrew his statement, Harshvardhan wrote on his Twitter personal Twitter, “The way Baba Ramdev has withdrawn his statement on allopathic medicine, the whole case has come to a halt, it is welcome and shows his maturity. We have to show to the whole world how the people of India have faced the Covid-19. Of course, our victory is certain! “
