New Delhi: Indian Railways has taken a major leap towards digital convenience with the launch of RailOne, a comprehensive super app designed to transform the travel experience for millions of passengers. By consolidating a wide array of railway services into a single, easy-to-use platform, RailOne aims to eliminate the hassle of juggling multiple apps and logins, ushering in a new era of smart, seamless rail travel.
What Makes RailOne a Game-Changer?
All Railway Services, One App
RailOne brings together the functionalities of several existing platforms, including:
- IRCTC Rail Connect (reserved ticket booking)
- UTS on Mobile (unreserved ticket booking)
- NTES (train schedules and running status)
- Food on Track (onboard meal ordering)
- Rail Madad (feedback and grievance redressal)
Passengers can now book all types of tickets, check PNR status, view coach positions, order food, and submit feedback—all from a single app.
User-Friendly Interface and Single Sign-On
The app boasts an intuitive, streamlined interface, making it accessible even for first-time users. Single sign-on allows existing IRCTC Rail Connect or UTS users to log in with their current credentials, while new users can register quickly with minimal information. The app is available for both Android and iOS devices.
R-Wallet and Secure Payments
RailOne introduces R-Wallet, a digital wallet for secure and convenient payments. Users can access R-Wallet with an mPIN or biometric authentication, ensuring both ease and safety.
Guest Access for Quick Enquiries
For those who only need to check train or PNR status, RailOne offers guest access simply enter your mobile number and OTP, no registration required.
New Features and Major Upgrades
Tatkal Booking Verification (Effective July 1, 2025)
From July 1, only verified users (via Aadhaar or DigiLocker and OTP authentication) will be allowed to book Tatkal tickets, adding an extra layer of security and transparency.
Earlier Chart Preparation
To help passengers on waitlists plan better, chart preparation will now start eight hours before train departure (previously four hours). For trains leaving before 2 PM, charts will be finalized at 9 PM the previous night.
Massive Backend Overhaul (December 2025)
Indian Railways is set to upgrade its reservation system by the end of 2025, enabling:
- 150,000 ticket bookings per minute
- 4 million enquiries per minute
- Multilingual support
- Special booking features for students, Divyangjan (persons with disabilities), and patients
