New Delhi: There is news of a big relief for the Indians trapped in Ukraine. The central government has decided to send flights to Ukraine. The government is preparing for it. The Indian government will also bear the cost of the return of Indians trapped in war-torn Ukraine. On Friday, ANI quoted sources as saying that the Indian government is organizing evacuation flights for Indians in Ukraine. The Government of India will bear the entire cost for this evacuation of the stranded citizens.

Meanwhile, for Indian citizens and students stranded in Ukraine, the Indian Embassy there has issued a new advisory and said that the Indian government is working on trying to evacuate citizens through Romania and Hungary.

A day earlier on Thursday, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar held separate talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and stressed that dialogue and diplomacy are the best way to resolve the Ukraine crisis.

There has been widespread condemnation of Russia starting a war against Ukraine and fears of an escalation of the conflict are being expressed. In such a situation, India is in touch with all concerned in the global efforts to reduce tension.

During a conversation with Lavrov, Jaishankar told the Russian Foreign Minister that “dialogue and diplomacy” is the best way to resolve the crisis. The Foreign Minister tweeted, ‘Spoke to Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov about the developments in Ukraine. Underlined that dialogue and diplomacy is the best course of action.

Fierce fighting continues between the Ukrainian army and Russian forces
