Berlin: Police in Germany have raided the homes and installations of four people linked to a supporter of Islamic State (ISIS) who carried out a deadly attack in Vienna this week. Federal police said Friday that members and officials of the anti-terrorism unit GSG9 carried out raids in Osnabr, CK, Kassel, and Pineburg County.

Police said the men are not currently suspects in Monday’s shooting, but there is evidence that they have links to the attacker. Four people were killed in the attack and the attacker was also killed.

Authorities in Austria have identified the attacker as 20-year-old Kujatim Fezulai. He has citizenship of Austria and Northern Macedonia. He has previously been accused of trying to join Islamic State in Syria.

He was released in December before serving his sentence. It is being investigated why Australia did not keep an eye on Fezulai when Slovakian officials reported that he had tried to buy rifle bullets from a shop in July.
