Indore: After reducing the excise duty of the central government, the prices of petrol and diesel have come down in Madhya Pradesh. On Sunday, the price of petrol in the capital Bhopal reached Rs 108.65 per liter and diesel at Rs 93.90 per liter. Similarly, petrol in Indore was Rs 108.68, diesel Rs 93.96, Gwalior Rs 108.54, diesel Rs 93.80, Sagar Rs 108.26, diesel Rs 93.54 and Ratlam Rs 108.43 and diesel Rs 93.72. In Jabalpur, the price of petrol has come down to Rs 108 per liter and that of diesel to Rs 93 per liter. Hereafter about 47 days, there has been a big relief from inflation. Now the prices of everyday things are expected to come down.
Significantly, on Saturday, the Finance Ministry had announced to reduce the excise duty on petrol by Rs 8 and on diesel by Rs 6 per liter. As soon as the excise duty was reduced, the price of petrol fell by Rs 9.5 per liter and the price of diesel by Rs 7 per liter. Let us tell you, the prices of petrol and diesel change every day at 6 am. The new rates are applicable from 6 am onwards. After adding excise duty, dealer commission, VAT and other things to the price of petrol and diesel, its price becomes almost double of the original price. This is the reason why the prices of petrol and diesel appear so high.
