New York: A 30-year-old man of Indian origin has pleaded guilty to accessing an Information Technology (IT) company protected computer and running code. The move resulted in a huge loss to the company and in 2018 16,000 accounts were deleted. Sudhish Kasba Ramesh pleaded guilty in a federal court in San Jose, California.

Attorney David Anderson said Ramesh was charged last month with access to a protected computer. According to a release issued by the US Department of Justice, Ramesh admitted to accessing the ‘cloud’ framework of Cisco Systems on September 24, 2018, without Cisco’s permission. Ramesh worked for the Cisco company and resigned in April 2018.

Ramesh has been released on US $ 50,000 bail. The trial for Ramesh’s sentence will begin in December. The maximum sentence in this case is five years imprisonment and a fine of US $ 2,50,000.
