Paytm First Games appoints Sachin Tendulkar as brand ambassador, to invest Rs 300 crore

New Delhi: Paytm First Games (PFG), a subsidiary of financial technology sector company Paytm, has appointed former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar as its brand ambassador. Apart from this, the company plans to invest Rs 300 crore in the fast-growing fantasy games other online gaming programs in the current financial year.

“Sachin is a popular name among billions of cricket lovers,” Paytm said in a statement on Tuesday. He can play an important role in creating awareness about exciting fantasy sports in the country. Not only fantasy cricket, he can also help PFG popularize other sports like kabaddi, football and basketball among people.

PFG Chief Operating Officer (COO) Sudhanshu Gupta said that cricket in India is nothing less than a religion for the people. It inspires billions of people. Sports fans’ engagement with fantasy sports takes them to the next level. He said that the partnership with Sachin would expand the company’s reach to smaller cities and towns as well.
