New Delhi: It will now be easy to make payments through the instant messaging app WhatsApp. Actually, the company on Thursday introduced the ₹ symbol in its chat composer for Indian users. The company made this announcement at the Global Fintech Festival (GFF) 2021. The company has also announced that the camera icon in Composer can now scan any QR code to make payments at over 20 million stores in India.
Facebook-owned WhatsApp received approval from the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) in November last year to make the Unified Payment Interface (UPI) service phase-wise live.

After these two updates, making payments on WhatsApp has become easier as users can now send money using two iconic symbols (₹ symbol and camera icon) inside the chat composer. The ₹ Rupee symbol has started and will soon be available for users across India.
