It has been said in this viral message that if you too had not changed the notes of 500 and 1000 rupees after demonetization, then now you have another chance. Now the government has shared the truth related to this message through its official Twitter account.
It has been said in the viral message that the facility for foreign nationals to exchange old notes of 500-1000 has been extended further. The Press Information Bureau (PIB), the press agency of the Government of India, has told the truth of this viral message by tweeting.
PIB called the message fake
Describing these claims as fake, PIB in its fact check said that no such order has been issued by RBI. PIB tweeted from its Fact Check account that an order issued in the name of RBI claimed that the exchange facility of Indian demonetized currency notes has been extended to foreign nationals. This order is bogus. The exchange facility for Indian Demonetized Currency Notes for foreign nationals has ended in 2017.”
Demonetization happened on November 8, 2016
Let us tell you that on November 8, 2016, demonetization was announced in the country. After this, old notes of 500 and 1000 rupees were closed. However, RBI had also given a chance to exchange the old note for a few days with different conditions.
