New Delhi: The war against the Coronavirus continues in the country. Now the government is emphasizing more and more investigation, so that sick people can be detected and treated. In this way, the virus will be prevented from spreading. Meanwhile, the central government has said that soon people will be able to get corona tested anywhere, anytime. For this, the government is considering changing the testing guidelines. Currently, the coronavirus test can only be done in government or private laboratories, which have been approved by ICMR. Dr. VK Paul, a member of NITI Aayog and chairman of the Empowered Committee on Corona Virus, has said this. According to him, our testing capability has now reached such a level that on-demand testing can be allowed.

According to Dr. Paul, the number of daily testing is increasing in the country. It has not only crossed 9 lakh, but its testing kits are also being made in the country. Along with government, large-scale private labs are also testing and in a way it has become accessible to all. But there is a need to change the guidelines to provide “on demand testing” facility to the common people, which will be done soon.

What will be the cost of on demand testing
On the cost of Corona virus testing, Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan said that various states have fixed their own testing rates. But the possibility of further reduction in it cannot be ruled out. Most of the testing kits made in the country are now available on the government procurement portal Gem (Government e-Market). He said that if state governments to buy testing kits, they can get better and cheaper kits.

Rajesh Bhushan described the higher number of patients recovering and the decline in the number of patients dying as compared to corona infected patients in the last 5 days. It also made it clear that in such a large country, it cannot be assured on the basis of 5 days of data. Current efforts to stop the coronavirus will have to continue. It is necessary to reduce the death toll further and our target is to bring the death rate down by one percent.
