New Delhi: In view of the successful completion of the Bharat Jodo Yatra so far and the enthusiasm generated among the Congressmen, the Congress is now preparing to organize the Mahila Jodo Yatra. Party sources say that before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, there is a plan to reach out to women voters through this. Many Congress leaders will lead this Mahila Jodo Yatra of Congress, but only Priyanka will remain at the center. She will lead Mahila Morcha in every state and will also issue Mahila Manifesto according to local needs. Sources say that the party wants to make up for the loss of women president by focusing on the star image of Mahila Congress and Priyanka.
If we look at the statistics of women voters in the elections held in 2019, then it becomes clear why it has become necessary to reach out to women. In the last election, the voting percentage of women was 68 percent while the figure for men was 64 percent. Election results in Uttarakhand, Goa, Bihar, and Uttar Pradesh, among other states, show that it was the women’s vote that led to a one-sided victory for the Bharatiya Janata Party. This is the reason why Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP are laying so much emphasis on women’s empowerment. Congress takes pride in being a pro-women party. Which was presided over by a woman for two decades and insisted on passing the Women’s Reservation Bill in the Rajya Sabha. But it is clear that the party does not want to stop here. That’s why now she wants to use the Priyanka Gandhi Vadra card to make a place in the hearts of women. Some success was achieved by its use in Uttar Pradesh, but more benefits are expected in Himachal Pradesh.
Congress’s ‘hand to hand’ campaign
With the Bharat Jodo Yatra ending by Republic Day, the Congress also plans to launch a two-month-long ‘Hath Se Hath Jodo’ campaign. Which will start from 26 January till 26 March. Through the programs organized under this, work will be done to spread the message of unity of Bharat Jodo Yatra at the states, districts, and gram panchayat level across the country. Not only this, a letter written by Rahul Gandhi will also be distributed during this period, which will explain the purpose of the Bharat Jodo Yatra.
It is a matter of coincidence that on one hand, the Congress is busy preparing for the Mahila Jodo Yatra, while on the other hand, Rahul Gandhi during his yatra is constantly attacking the BJP and the Sangh with ‘Jai Shri Ram’ instead of ‘Hey Ram’ and ‘Jai Siya Ram’. They have been accusing her of ignoring Sita ji by raising slogans. While according to him, the importance of both Ram and Sita is equally included in Jai Siyaram. Rahul recently said that ‘they never say Jai Siyaram, Sita has been removed’. And they never chant Hey Ram, because they do not believe in the ideals of Lord Ram.
