New Delhi: Earthquake tremors were felt in some parts of Afghanistan on Monday morning. There is no information about any casualty or damage to property due to the immediate earthquake. According to the National Earthquake Center, the tremor was felt at 6.47 am, whose an intensity was 4.3. This earthquake occurred 100 km southeast of Faizabad, Afghanistan. This is the second earthquake in the country within a month.
According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS), earlier on January 22, an earthquake of magnitude 4.2 occurred 79 km southeast of Faizabad, Afghanistan, at 9.04 am local time on Sunday morning. At the same time last year, more than 1,100 people died in a 6.2 magnitude earthquake in eastern Afghanistan. Paktika Province was the most affected, and approximately 4,500 homes were completely razed to the ground.
