New Delhi: Now vehicles with foreign registration can be run in the country. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways said on Sunday that it has formalized the movement of private vehicles registered in other countries into Indian territory. The ministry said in a notification that under the Motor Vehicle Non-Transport Vehicle India Travel Rules 2022, a vehicle allowed to travel in the country should have a valid registration certificate.
It states that the driver of the vehicle should have a valid driving license or international driving permit. Also, the vehicle should have an insurance policy and pollution control certificate. The Ministry of Road and Transport of the Central Government has implemented new rules for the vehicles of the guests coming from abroad. If a foreign guest comes to India and brings a vehicle with him, then these rules will have to be followed.
Government-issued notification
These rules have been implemented keeping in mind safety. Many times diplomats or guests coming from abroad also bring personal vehicles with them when they come to India, but there were no rules for those vehicles, but keeping in mind the security, the Transport Ministry of the Central Government has implemented a new rule.
Indians will not be able to travel
According to the notification, if these documents are in a language other than English, then before bringing them to India, there should be a translation certificate in English issued by its local authority, which should be attested. Along with the notification, it has been said that motor vehicles registered in any country other than India will not be allowed to carry local passengers and goods within the Indian territory.
