Novak Djokovic wins 21st Grand Slam title

New Delhi: Top seed Novak Djokovic on Sunday clinched his 7th Wimbledon title by defeating Nick Kyrgios 4-6, 6-3, 6-4, 7-6 in the men’s final. Djokovic took a 6-1 lead in the fourth-set tiebreaker and redeemed his third match point as the ball caught in the net on Kyrgios’ backhand. This is Djokovic’s 21st Grand Slam title, one less than record-holder Rafael Nadal. He is also second only to Roger Federer in terms of winning the most Wimbledon titles. The legendary Federer has won eight Wimbledon titles. Kyrgios of Australia was playing his first Grand Slam final. Nadal gave him a walkover due to injury in the semi-finals.
