Bhopal: Nitish Bhardwaj, the actor who played the role of Lord Krishna in the popular TV serial Mahabharat, has filed a police complaint against his IAS wife Smita Bhardwaj, accusing her of abducting his 11-year-old twin daughters and not letting him meet them. Bhardwaj, who is currently living in Mumbai, has also alleged that his wife has been torturing him mentally and emotionally for the past two years.
Bhardwaj submitted his complaint to the Bhopal Police Commissioner on Wednesday, seeking his intervention in the matter. He claimed that his wife, who is the Additional Chief Secretary at the MP Human Rights Commission, has been changing the location and school of his daughters without his knowledge and consent. He said that he was not informed when his wife shifted from Indore to Bhopal and then to Ooty with their daughters. He said that he does not know where his daughters are right now and he fears that they have been kidnapped.
Bhardwaj also said that his wife has been instilling wrong things about him in the minds of their daughters, which will have a lifelong adverse impact on their personal and professional lives. He said that his wife’s behavior is not normal and he has doubts about her mental balance. He said that he had filed a petition in the court, asking for her mental examination. He said that he has also demanded the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mohan Yadav, to look into the matter and prevent his wife from misusing her IAS lobby and power to pressure him.
Bhardwaj and his wife got married in 2009 and separated in September 2019. Their divorce case is still pending in the court. Bhardwaj is best known for his portrayal of Lord Krishna in the TV show Mahabharat, which aired in the late 1980s and early 1990s. He has also acted in other TV shows and films such as Vishnu Puran, Mohenjo Daro, Kedarnath, and Samantar.
